Lettera
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Lettera word-search game (“Lettera”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Lettera is published by MJK APPS SRL. If you have any questions, contact us at contact@fluttech.com.
In short:
- No ads, no purchases, no tracking. Nothing in this version of Lettera is for sale.
- Your progress lives on your phone. A guest account, created silently, saves a copy to the cloud so it survives a reinstall.
- Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want that progress on another phone. We then receive your name and email address.
- We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand, in aggregate, how the game is played and where it breaks.
- We never sell your data.
- You can delete your account, and everything it holds, from inside the app.
1. Information we process
On your device
Your levels, stars and coins, your streak and daily tasks, the words you have collected, and your settings are stored on your phone. The word lists themselves are built into the app; the app may also fetch corrected or expanded lists from our servers, which involves no information about you beyond the request itself.
Account & cloud save
Lettera uses Firebase Authentication. On first launch a guest account is created — a random identifier with no personal details — so your progress can be saved to the cloud and restored if you reinstall. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, that identifier is kept and the provider gives us your name and email address. With Apple you may choose “Hide My Email”, in which case we only ever receive a private relay address.
Whether guest or signed in, the following is stored in Cloud Firestore under your account identifier:
- your progress: levels, stars, coins and the topics you have opened;
- your streak and daily-task history;
- the words and postcards you have collected;
- your settings, such as sound and board size;
- the app version that saved them and a short label the app invents for your phone — not a hardware identifier — so that two of your phones can be told apart.
Nothing here is visible to other players. There are no public profiles and no leaderboards.
The daily board
When you solve the daily board, your solve time and the number of hints you used are stored under your account identifier and folded into an anonymous count for that day. That count is how the app can tell you that you were faster than a certain share of players. It contains no names and cannot be traced back to you.
Word reports
If you report a word from a board, we store the language, the topic, the word and the reason you picked from a fixed list, together with your account identifier — so that the same word reported by many players can be told from one player reporting it many times. Reports contain no free text.
Notifications
Lettera can remind you of the daily board and of a streak about to end. These reminders are scheduled and shown by your phone itself — no server is involved and nothing is collected to send them. They are off until you turn them on under You → Notifications, and you can turn them off there or in your phone's settings. On Android 13 and later, the phone asks for permission first.
Sharing a postcard
When you share your journey as a postcard, the app builds an image and a line of text on your phone and hands them to your phone's own share sheet. Nothing is uploaded to us; who receives it is entirely your choice.
Crash diagnostics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to record crashes so we can fix them. A crash report may include your phone model, operating-system version, app version, a technical stack trace and your account identifier, so that “one player, every level, same crash” is a question we can answer. It is used only to diagnose and fix problems.
Usage analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd) to understand how the game is played so we can improve it: for example that a level was started or finished, a hint was used, a setting was changed or a screen was opened, together with your app version, phone model, operating-system version and coarse region. These events are tied to an identifier Firebase generates for your copy of the app and to your account identifier, so we can measure things like how many players come back. We do not collect your phone's advertising identifier — it is switched off in the app — and we do not use analytics to advertise to you, on any platform.
Remote configuration
The app fetches a small configuration file from Firebase Remote Config — hint prices, feature switches — so that a number can be adjusted without an app update. The request carries the same Firebase app-instance identifier as analytics, and nothing else about you.
No advertising, no purchases, no tracking
This version of Lettera shows no ads, sells nothing and contains no advertising or attribution software. It does not track you across other apps or websites and never asks for permission to. Should a future version add an optional purchase, this policy will be updated first.
2. How we use your information
- To run the game and save your progress.
- To restore that progress on another phone when you sign in.
- To tell you how your daily solve compares with everyone else's.
- To show the reminders you switch on.
- To find and fix crashes and wrong words.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the game is played so we can improve it.
3. Service providers
We rely on the following providers to run these features:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Remote Config, Crashlytics and Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd). See Firebase privacy and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In — used only if you choose to sign in. See the Apple and Google privacy policies.
The app's typefaces are bundled with it; nothing is loaded from font servers. Beyond Firebase, described above, we do not use attribution services and do not share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
4. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. The only thing another person ever sees is a postcard you chose to send them.
5. Keeping and deleting your data
- Data on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app.
- You can permanently delete your account and everything stored under it at any time from You → Account → Delete account. This removes your progress, your streak and collection, your settings and your identity records, and clears this phone's copy of the game. Your word reports are kept without your identifier, and the anonymous daily counts are unaffected — neither can be linked to you once the account is gone.
- You can also request deletion by emailing contact@fluttech.com; see our account deletion page.
- Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Backups at our service providers may take up to 30 days to age out.
6. Your rights (EU/EEA — GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, export and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. The quickest way to erase your data is the in-app Delete account option; otherwise contact us.
Our legal bases are: providing the features you use (your account, cloud save and the daily comparison) under contract; and our legitimate interest in diagnosing crashes and understanding, in aggregate, how the game is played.
7. Children
Lettera is a general-audience word game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Cloud data is protected by Firebase security rules so that each account can read and write only its own records.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, say so in the app.
